A vessel
How to describe this whimsical piece? I love it but that doesn’t make it easier. The long narrow neck and forward-leaning, curved handle has something of the swan about it. The glaze is an ash glaze I make in my studio using ash from our wood burner (& the wood burnt is predominately fallen from old trees in the garden). For years I’ve been applying this glaze too thinly and firing it at too high a temperature. Now this lovely woody green is my reward.
The vessels are about 15 cms in height and have a base width of 9.5 cms. Each vessel weighs between 630 gms and 670 gms.
